Alkyl Esters
Derived from vegetable oils, the by-product of combining vegetable oils with alcohol, thereby leaving the esters in their own unique form. These esters create a multi-functional conditioning emollient that acts as a fixative for scent, feel modifier and ingredient carrier.
Beeswax
Often used to make a harder bar of soap when the formulation contains oils/additives that would yield too soft a bar.
Bentonite Clay
Used to naturally add slip and silkiness to soap.
Calendua
This botanical is known to be a natural skin healer; it is naturally anti-inflammatory, antiseptic and calming.
Caustic Soda
Used to saponify oils to make soap.
Cetyl Esters
Derived from coconuts, this ingredient is used as an emollient, co-emulsifier, stabilizer and carrier of ingredients.
Chamomile
This herb is a naturally calming to the skin and nervous system; it is a naturally anti-bacterial and anti-fungal; a natural sedative and muscle calmer.
Comfrey
This herb as been used as a healing herb since 400 B.C.! It is rich in a substance called allantoin which stimulates new cell growth, increases cell production and speeds healing. It is a naturally anti-inflammatory and emollient.
Cramp Bark
The name pretty much tells all. This herb is known to relieve cramps and spasms of involuntary muscles.
Corn Meal
Used to naturally exfoliate and absorb odors.
Emulsifying Conditioner
Naturally derived from Colza oil and noted for exceptional mildness, this ingredient gives our lotion it\'s thickness and stability with the perks of additional conditioning and emolliency. An emulsion is a mixture of unblendable substances - like oil and water. Lotion is an emulsion and this ingredient is what binds all the ingredients together.
Epsom Salts
These salts are principally used in baths to sooth, relax and relieve sore muscles.
Fullers Earth Clay
Used to naturally degrease and exfoliate skin.
Ginger
This herb is used to naturally exfoliate skin in our soaps; it is naturally anti-inflammatory, anti-nausea; stimulates blood circulation.
Green Tea Leaves
This botanical is used to naturally color soap and exfoliate skin mildly; mildly antiseptic; rich in anti-oxidants.
Guar Conditioner
Naturally derived from guar beans, this conditioner is a bipolymer based polysachride derivative that is used for its excellent conditioning & thickening properties.
Hydrolized Silk Protien
A fabulous ingredient in which natural LIPIDS are grafted to Hydrolyzed Silk Protein. It bonds to hair and skin as well as providing "custom" conditioning, by focusing more on the areas that need it most! Hydrolyzed Silk Protein is credited with the ability to hold 10,000 times its weight in water. Silk links hair & skin fibers to strengthen, improve elasticity & resiliency and restore the moisture balance.
Lavender
This botanical is a natural pain reliever and sedative. It is also naturally anti-bacterial, anti-viral and anti-spasmodic. I promotes the growth of new skin cells and has a great healing affect on burns and other skin ailments.
Lemongrass
This herb has a lemony, uplifting scent; it is a natural anti-depressant, bactericide, fungicide and insecticide.
Lemon Peel
We add this to our Tub Teas for it\'s uplifting scent; it also doesn\'t hurt that it is rich in anti-oxidant Vitamin C.
Lemon Verbana
This herb has a naturally uplifting scent; it has been used to treat colds, fevers, nervousness, gout and skin infections.
Oatstraw
This botanical has a lot of the same properties as oatmeal does when it comes to skin applications- it is very soothing and calming. It is also rich in minerals, a natural anti-depressant and anti-spasmodic.
Optiphen
OptiPhen� is a paraben and formaldehyde-free preservative- the best preservative we could find. However, it is not a naturally derived ingredient. Due to the volatility of unpreserved lotions, we have chosen to use it in our lotion to ensure the safety and quality of our product.
Orange Peel
We add this to our Tub Teas for it\'s uplifting scent; it also doesn\'t hurt that it is rich in anti-oxidant Vitamin C.
Patchouli
This herb is a well known tissue regenerator and heals rough cracked skin; it is also a natural insect repellent and aphrodisiac.
Peppermint Leaves
This herb is used to naturally exfoliate skin in our soaps; a natural muscle soother, anti-viral, antiseptic and anti-nauseate herb.
Plantain
Used to naturally heal and soothe the skin, we use this herb by infusing it into vegetable oil - usually rice bran oil. Plantain is used for its healing, anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties in treating the skin. It is helpful in healing and treating all sorts of skin irritations whether it is dry skin or cuts and burns. We love this herb!
Rose Hip Powder
Used to naturally color soap red; a natural exfoliant; a herb naturally rich in Vitamin C.
Rosemary
This herb is used to naturally exfoliate skin in our soaps; a naturally anti-inflammatory and antiseptic herb.
Rose Petals & Buds
This botanical has natural sedative, antiseptic, anti-parasitic and anti-inflammatory properties.
Sea Salt
Sea salt is a nutrient rich, extremely fine, and partially moist salt perfect for bath products and scrubbing blends.
Sodium Lactate
A natural ingredient from lactic acid, produced by fermentation of sugar. It exhibits strong antimicrobial and humectant properties in many cosmetic applications. In soap it helps create a harder bar and gives the lather a silky feel. When used in lotions and balms, it can increase the effectiveness of some ingredients while decreasing the greasy feel which is often found in ultra-healing balms.
Spearmint Leaves
This herb is used to naturally exfoliate skin in our soaps; a calming herb; natural muscle soother and blood circulation stimulator; said to help upset stomach and nausea.
Thyme
This herb is a natural anti-spasmodic, antiseptic and sedative; it relieves muscle spasms and promotes healing.
